Note in 27th February 2017 : This is a comment to below discussion in OMG Linux group in facebook , since this was dying in my draft this long , I just had sudden feeling to publish this , Pros and Cons upto you, you can comment about below comment , :) https://www.facebook.com/groups/omglinux/permalink/1088495551206823/ මුලින්ම ලංකාවේ ඇයි ලිනක්ස් හෝ එහෙමත් නැති නම් ඕපන් සෝර්ස් මෘදුකාංග වලට නබුරුතාවය අඩු කියල බලන්න පුළුවන් අපිට ආරම්බයක් විදියට . එකට කලින් අවුරුදු වල ලිනක්ස් වලට තිබුන යුසර් ෆ්‍රෙන්ඩ්ලි ගතිය අඩු නිසා වෙන්න ඇති කියල හිතන්න පුළුවන්. ළමයෙක්ට පුරුදු කරන්නෙම පොඩි කාලේ ඉදලම වින්ඩෝස් මෙහෙයුම් පද්දතියේ වැඩ කරන්න මිසක් මෙන්න මෙහෙම ඒවා තියෙනවා ඔයා ආස , ඔයාට වැඩ කරන්න පුළුවන් ලේසි එක ඔයාම තෝරාගන් කියන ඔප්ෂන් එක දෙන්න පුළුවන් උනා නම් ඒ දවස් වල මේ වෙද්දී ලංකාවේ සැහෙන්න වෙනසක් වෙලා තියේනං ඕනි. හැබැයි දැන් නම් ඒ තන්වය සෑහෙන්න වෙනස් ඉසුරු ලිනක්ස් නමින් උබන්ටු මත පදනම් වෙච්ච මෙහෙයුම් පද්දතියක් කරලා , ගුරුවරුන්ට ඒ සම්බන්ද දේවල් උගන්නල ඒ ගුරුවන් හරහා ළමයින්ට අලුත් දෙයක් යවන්...

It's been few years now I have been actively contributing to FOSS and it's community , even though in this less years I do had chance to work with numerous FOSS events and projects . from large scale organization like Mozilla Foundation to Local huge projects like Isuru Linux ( Program and OS ) to School workshops and seminars. Software Freedom Day in  Sri Lanka  was held in 2016 September 17th at NSBM ( National School of Business Management ) and also RUSL ( Rajarata University of Sri Lanka ) . It's really great to see enthusiasm in new people who really into Open Source Community , also people who understand it's a vision, not something that someone put boundaries around , people who understand where they can scale it where to suits their needs and to others. for all this years led me to things that I could talk about the visions , paths and philosophy for days. I do read about it lot , (A LOT ). and still internet filling with lot of people thought about it ...

Lately Ministry of Education ICT Unit ,powered up their Project call Isuru Linux.Well it was project with long history but as far as I know this is the time came with public awareness , events,  workshops  etc. Thanks to Mr Saman I got this chance with work with them and it was a great experience for my community projects including advocating and learning about  FOSS .   * This post will be updated with more details පාසල් සිසුන්ගේ නිදහස් මාදුකාංග පිළිබඳව දැනුම වර්ධනය කිරීම සඳහා අවස්ථාව සැලසීම අරමුණු කර ගනිමින් අධ්‍යාපන අමාත්‍යංශයේ තොර...
