It's been few years now I have been actively contributing to FOSS and it's community , even though in this less years I do had chance to work with numerous FOSS events and projects . from large scale organization like Mozilla Foundation to Local huge projects like Isuru Linux ( Program and OS ) to School workshops and seminars. Software Freedom Day in  Sri Lanka  was held in 2016 September 17th at NSBM ( National School of Business Management ) and also RUSL ( Rajarata University of Sri Lanka ) . It's really great to see enthusiasm in new people who really into Open Source Community , also people who understand it's a vision, not something that someone put boundaries around , people who understand where they can scale it where to suits their needs and to others. for all this years led me to things that I could talk about the visions , paths and philosophy for days. I do read about it lot , (A LOT ). and still internet filling with lot of people thought about it ...

This is a post with little proud , about myself :p . Well I've work with several volunteer organizations and open source communities.this is the one thing I really happy about , Establishing Firefox Club at National School of Business Management ( NSBM ) . We did lot of events including FirefoxOS App development days , Localization events , Maker parties  etc . this event "grow up with Mozilla" also really important to be for two reasons . One is this is the first event happening after I become Regional Ambassador Lead to Asia , Sri Lanka at Mozilla Foundation for Firefox Student Ambassadors. Second one is bit of sad but every one have their time to left . even though I've founded this great community which runs by bunch of cool undergraduates now , They are doing great job now . Since this is my final year and we just had final lecturer I decided to resign as club lead and let them continue what are they are doing . Hossain Al Ikram , Mozilla Rep and RAL did a s...

Knowing how to prevent a SQL injection vulnerability is only half the web application security battle. A multitude of factors come into play when it comes to writing secure code, many of which are out of the developers’ direct control. That’s why common vulnerabilities like SQL injection continue to plague today’s applications, and why application security testing software is so important. These problems can be overcome – with a little insight, organizations can begin to address these challenges directly and better enable developers to remediate SQL injection. Here are the top eight reasons SQL injection vulnerabilities are still rampant: SQL itself is vulnerable. SQL is designed to allow people access to information and is therefore inherently vulnerable, so every developer must know how to prevent SQL injection – not just one or two individuals on your development team. The price of agnosticism. SQL is agnostic, meaning it works across database platf...

I was trying to add new form UI class form to the Qt and since I'm a newbie ( actually started today) with C++ Qt framwork at this time i got stuck when I tried to add Push button to open new Class Form. it showed this damn error several times. mainwindow.obj:-1: error: LNK2019: unresolved external symbol "public: __cdecl DialogDemo::DialogDemo(class QWidget *)" (??0DialogDemo@@QEAA@PEAVQWidget@@@Z) referenced in function "private: void __cdecl MainWindow::on_btn_cancel_clicked(void)" (?on_btn_cancel_clicked@MainWindow@@AEAAXXZ) Rebuilding and cleaning the project not worked since I've tried several ways to display that new GUI form. Solution was simple here i quote stackoverflow answer. Solution Right click on project > Clean Right click on project > Run qmake Right click on project > Build Run - worked first time Why it works The reason this worked is because Run qmake updates your Makefile. For some reason qt is not automatic...

So the news is I lately got the chance to work with mozilla Sri Lanka Community since it’s Reestablishment and I must say it’s one hell of an experience. Thanks to Danishka Navin, I have met other Mozilla Reps Malinda Prasad, Kalpa Welvitigoda and of course others too.   (Read:   my very first meeting with Mozillians) With my journey started with mozilla, we launched the Firefox 29 Code name Australis in Sri Lanka.
